Schenker Limited boosts opportunities for young people with fifth wave of apprentices
Schenker Limited, the UK arm of the global logistics services provider DB Schenker, has officially welcomed sixteen more young people to its UK National Apprenticeship Programme to start a career within the logistics industry. The programme has been running since 2010, and has seen many apprentices embark on a successful career in logistics within the company.

The new group will be office based from a variety of locations up and down the UK. As before they all will undertake a two year long apprenticeship with the leading global logistics provider.

At the conclusion of the programme the apprentices will have completed extensive training and gained a full appreciation of the DB Schenker organisation.

While gaining experience in their local branch the young talents will also attend internal DB Schenker training courses, visit other branches, attend industry events, work in different disciplines to their own and undertake a business improvement project.

Helgi Ingolfsson, CEO Schenker Limited, said at their induction today “Our apprenticeship programme is expanding each year with more opportunities for young people to work within the logistics business. With sixteen apprentices this year it is the largest intake we have seen and it is heartening to see these young people develop and become an integral part of our organisation, as we have seen in previous years.
