£70k - £80k + package
Our client is looking to appoint a Head of Purchasing. The role reports into the Director of Procurement and is responsible for a team of Senior Category Managers, Category Managers, Buyers, Purchasing Assistants and Graduates. The role requires an individual to be an excellent team player working in conjunction with other Heads of Departments including Procurement Operations, Commercial and Engineering.
You will work within the Executive team to ensure the Purchasing Department is aligned and able to deliver the strategic aims of the Company both domestically and internationally, both now and for long- term growth ambitions. You will work to drive improvements in the value stream for the department so it continues to deliver value to Customers. You will work to develop the capability of your people. The role requires a diligent professional who will interact with suppliers in a collaborative and constructive manner so that relationships can be optimised.
You will have:
A relevant degree with minimum MCIPS
Experience of leading a Purchasing function with a proven track record
Demonstrable experience in strategic tendering
Excellent leadership skills
A good track record in developing good open supplier relationships (win - win!)
Excellent negotiation skills
Strategic thinking - Experience of developing and implementing purchasing strategies
A good knowledge of supply chain management
Excellent communication and presentation skills
