A Business Solution Director with experience of designing multi-modal logistics and supply chain solutions at global level is sought by a leading conglomerate with a world-wide presence.

This is a challenging newly- created role within a forward thinking, well established but continually evolving organisation. It needs a myriad of skills and an individual who is a hybrid of a Logistics Solutions Engineer a Supply Chain strategist a Business Development Manager and a Commercial Guru

We are working with a large global conglomerate whose on-going success is due in no small part to the expertise of their people as well as their ability to provide a blue-chip customer base with high levels of service.   You will be joining an incredibly fast-paced, challenging and rewarding environment where you will take responsibility for your own success. 

The Group's current logistic s / supply chain activities are operated autonomously by each independent subsidiary using a mix of in-house assets and various 3PL service providers.  Going forward, it is intended that the Group will optimise its logistics and supply chain functions through the development of an alliance between all of the subsidiaries.   Operating under one umbrella will allow individual subsidiaries to play on a much larger field to take advantage of economies of scale.  Your preliminary brief will be to objectively evaluate the current logistics and supply chain operations across all of the subsidiaries   in order to understand their individual challenges and design a complete core business Logistics and Solutions Service offering – a 4PL / Control Tower service. Your longer-term objective will be to focus on creating logistics solutions for strategic key customers and possibly a stand alone business.

Candidates should have excellent communication and negotiating skills and be confident presenters.  It’s a given that you will have strong solution design proficiencies and extensive experience across distribution, supply chain and   freight forwarding  multi-modal operations including air, sea,  and road freight.  Being a highly analytical individual you will have the ability to collate and analyse data in order to understand the individual challenges faced by each Subsidiary, identify the true cost of their various supply chains, develop process and operational improvements and deliver realistic value for money propositions that will encourage stakeholders to operate collaboratively. It goes without saying therefore, that you will be the kind of individual who easily builds business relationships; someone with the ability to engage all stakeholders, the confidence to challenge the status quo and the gravitas needed to project manage large-scale programs aimed at driving down costs across the supply chain at Group level. You will have excellent team development skills and will have the ability to build a team that will develop the consultancy services such as network optimisation, customs, control tower offering and implant purchasing systems etc. being offered to the subsidiaries.
