CILT(UK) offers a grade of membership for all stages of your career. You can apply at the grade that suits your current knowledge and experience. Many members start at one of our Non-assessed grades and then upgrade as their knowledge and experience grows.
Our assessed grades require applicants to satisfy specific criteria and allow members to use our globally recognised post-nominals on CVs and other business stationery. We have three types of membership at assessed grade:
Member (MILT) - to qualify for member status you will need a relevant level 3 qualification or the CILT certificate and at least three years relevant work experience in the profession or a relevant level 4 qualification and at least two years relevant experience in the profession or the CILT Professional Diploma and two years relevant experience in the profession. Alternatively if you do not hold a relevant qualification but have at least five years experience (including three years at a supervisory, first line, or junior management level), you may also be eligible for this grade.
Chartered Member (CMILT) - to qualify for Chartered Member status you will need an accredited degree and four years experience (two at senior level) or a relevant level 6 qualification and five years in the profession (two at senior level) or a non-relevant degree and seven years in the profession (two at senior level). Alternatively if you do not hold a relevant qualification but have at least seven years experience (including two years at a senior level), you may also be eligible for this grade subject to providing suitable evidence to demonstrate this.
Chartered Fellow (FCILT) - To qualify for Chartered Fellow status you will need at least seven 7 years experience with a high level of management responsibility.
All members receive a comprehensive package of benefits including access to Member Groups and Forums, where they can engage with like-minded peers.
