McGill's has bought over the stage carriage routes of independent bus operators; Arthur's Coaches and D.A. Coaches for an undisclosed sum.
This will see McGill's extend its Lanarkshire commercial network into Coatbridge, Chapelhall, Kirkintilloch and the Salsburgh areas. We will commence operation on our new routes on Monday 4 April, with all new services operating from our Blantyre depot.
James Easdale commented: "We are delighted to have concluded these deals with Arthur's Coaches and D.A. Coaches. Both companies have operated in the local area for a long time and built up a loyal customer base that we look forward to welcoming on board a McGill’s bus from Monday 4 April.”
Ralph Roberts, Managing Director of McGill’s added, "Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. From 4 April, McGill’s will offer Lanarkshire-based customers – old and new – access to an enhanced network of co-ordinated services, quality buses and a super range of great value tickets.”
These two latest acquisitions follow hot on the heels of last month’s purchase of McNairn Coaches and J.J. Travel and send a clear signal of McGill's intention to grow and extend its network in Lanarkshire.
