Wrightbus has announced a significant new order from leading operator First Bus for its StreetDeck and StreetLite Max vehicles, highlighting the strong relationship between the two companies which spans more than 25 years.

The latest order for a total of 91 buses will bring the number of Wrightbus vehicles within the First Bus fleet operating nationally to more than 3,500, including over 700 integral buses which have been delivered during the last five years.

The order includes 71 StreetDeck double deck buses, 10 of which are fitted with high specification USBs on seats with special livery.  All buses are Euro 6 and include Wrightbus’ unique ‘Micro Hybrid 2’ technology and feature pre-wired RTPI, 14 CCTV cameras and E-leather seating.

In addition, 20 StreetLite Max single deck buses have also been ordered. Fitted with Daimler engines, these 11.5m low carbon emission compliant vehicles also benefit from Wright’s Micro Hybrid 2 technology, which harvests the surplus energy generated by the bus’ braking system and uses it to power pneumatics, hydraulic and electrical systems, achieving fuel savings of up to 10% across a 15 year operational life.  They too have pre-wired RPTI, 10 camera CCTV and E-leather seating.
