Cheshire Group  Event Planning

The Cheshire Group committee was newly formed in September 2007 and since then has tried to run events which are interesting and thought provoking for our members.

The CILT members in Cheshire seem to have quite wide ranging interests and come from each corner of the county.  In an effort to understand the most popular areas of interest, the committee analysed the results of the survey which was sent to members in the North West region in 2008.

The results of the survey, just for Cheshire Members can be downloaded via the link below. It shows that members attend events to keep up with the latest industry news as well as for personal development. Members seem to prefer events in the evening, with the most popular topics of interest being

• Road Transport
• Supply Chain
• Warehousing
• Passenger Transport

The most popular style of events are:

• Seminars / presentations by industry leaders (case studies)
• Company / best practice visits and site tours
• Educational seminars / training workshops / courses
• Discussion debates on nominated topics

Event Venues

Analysis of membership details within the Cheshire Group has shown that the majority of our members have Chester or Crewe postcodes. (Click here for a summary of the membership analysis)

We are therefore trying to schedule more events in these areas as a consequence. Hosted events for us are preferred due to the interest level and the cost, so we are obviously dependent on the location of individual company premises for the majority of events.

If you can help with potential venues for seminar talks / presentations in Chester or Crewe, please let us know.

We hope that the 2009/2010 calendar gives a good bredth of topics and venues and since we are currently looking to put the 2010/2011 calendar together, if you can offer any event topics you would like to see, or can host an event, then please let us know.
