Logistics and transport professionals work across a wide variety of disciplines and modes, and we are the Chartered Institute for everyone, wherever they are in the profession. We operate through our structure of Professional Sectors that provide specialist activity for a particular area of interest whilst continuing to offer plenty of opportunity for involvement across the whole spectrum. Each Professional Sector provides a clear window into the work of the Forums and Regional Groups, as well as access to national events and all the activities of the Institute.

CILT members are part of the only multi-modal, multi-discipline professional organisation in logistics and transport.  So, while some Forums have topics that are likely to be of interest to only one Professional Sector, many cross a number of Sectors - for example, the Freight  Transport Forum is relevant to those in the Supply Chain, Transport Planning, Rail, Ports Maritime and Waterways, Freight Forwarding and Aviation Professional Sectors.

The Institute also operates geographically across the Nations and Regions of the UK, with local group meetings that enable members to take advantage of events and networking opportunities in their area, which could be close to their home or their workplace.
