Faculties & Policies

Engage with a wealth of knowledge and information…

Membership of the Institute is structured into four main Faculties and over 20 specialist Forums. This offers you the unique opportunity to engage with the wealth of knowledge and information available within the membership and helps connect you with worldwide expertise.

As a member, you will select one of four Faculties - Resources, Supply Chain, Technology and Transport – which between them support more than 20 specialist Forums. The Forums look at issues broadly relating to their parent Faculty - click here for the Forums Search and Index to find your specific area of interest. Each Faculty and Forum has a Chairman and Committee, and members are encouraged to become actively involved to increase their knowledge, experience and skills.

The Institute's Faculties and Forums are centres of excellence and these informative platforms disseminate best practice using a variety of methods - newsletters, articles and research; meetings, seminars and events - giving you the chance to network with your peers.

Faculty and Forum eDiscussion Board

As a member, you receive automatic access to your Faculty's eDiscussion board. This allows for discussion and the exchange of documents and information independent of space and time – perfect for our busy members!

Influencing Policies

The Policies work of the Institute may develop from the work of the Faculties and Forums or through the Public Policies Committee, which oversees all policy matters and approves reports, responses to government documents or anything else that may be considered the policy of the Institute.
