Gary Forbes-Burns

Gary's career in the bus industry started in June 1995 with a summer job between school and university at Scottish Citylink. After 6 months at uni, he decided he didn't need to know how to make cement in 60 different ways and the lure of the bus world just proved too much, returning to Citylink in March 1996.

A thorough grounding in express coach operation over the next eighteen months proved the lauch pad to joining Lothian Buses in January 1998 in the design department. This role was responsible for the original design of at stop information in the Edinburgh area following take over of provision from the local authority.

After gaining considerable experience across all parts of the Lothian Buses business in scheduling, operations and the provision of real time information, the opportunity to move into the operation of a thriving coach business presented itself and Gary joined Edinburgh Coach Lines in August 2008.

As Traffic Manager for Edinburgh Coach Lines, Gary has successfully implemented a range of contracts delivering best practice to clients throughout the UK and Europe, while motivating and developing his staff to deliver every time they provide anything from one single transfer to a series of tours throughout the country and beyond.
