Adding Value through Logistics Procurement
When:
9 September 2010, 09:30 - 14:30
Where: Hinckley Island Hotel, Hinckley
There is more to professional logistics procurement than price negotiations!
This seminar will examine the ways procurement teams in leading businesses contribute to their business’ performance: both by running successful tender events and in developing supplier strategies.
It will give suppliers an insight into the mysterious workings of the buyer’s mind as well as tips for both sides in tender management. As e-procurement is an increasingly popular tool for logistics procurement the seminar will also look at what to consider when running or responding to an internet based process.
All those involved in the procurement or supply of logistics or related services should attend this seminar.
After a series of presentations, and opportunities for debate, the seminar will conclude with a networking lunch.
The event will cover the following:
• How procurement professionals can add value beyond simple price negotiations
• Different companies’ approaches to Logistics Procurement
• Considerations when tendering logistics services
• E-procurement tools and techniques
• The perspective of logistics service providers
Confirmed Speakers include:
• Malcolm Pope Head of Logistics Supplier Development - Premier Foods
• Rachel Stretch, Head of Procurement – Logistics at Marks and Spencer
• Kirsten Tisdale, Principal, Aricia Ltd
• Joe Critchley VP Sales – Trade Extensions
• Brian McDill Solutions and Operations Director - Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK
