Joanna Davies CMILT - YP Representative: Lancashire

Joanna's career started with a BSc in Biological sciences, but after a summer job working for Financial Times diaries, and an ISCO test, she discovered her love for logistics. An MSc in Logistics and Supply chain management followed from Heriot-Watt university, sponsorship from Christian Salvesen, and completing a dissertation with Unilever, Lever Faberge. Over the next 3  years, she worked as graduate trainee, for Christian Salvesen, transport team manager as Tesco, and aged 25 worked as Transport manager for Allied Bakeries, Associated British Foods.

She then continued up the career ladder working for Wincanton on an Argos contract, and taking on the role of senior project manager for VSc, a supply chain IT software house, and then a further varied turn with the approach of a offer to work as UK logistics manager for BBraun Sterilog, providing logistics services from their super centres in the UK,  providing decontamination and sterilisation facilities for NHS and private hospitals and clinics.

Joanna now works as Deputy Site Movement Liaison Offer for Advance Uranium Asset Management, and is responsible for the safe and compliant transport of all dangerous goods from the Springfields fuels site, and overall compliance for a large number of international shipments, predominantly radioactive material.

Joanna achieved her CMILT status in 2009.

Currently based in Preston, Joanna is Lancashire group YPF representative..
