As a key part of The Knowledge Centre, the John Williams Library is regularly used by Institute members, either by visiting or, more usually, by contacting the library by phone or email, for your own and your organisation's benefit. You can save valuable time and added expense by using this resource when researching specific areas of business, day-to-day management issues and on-going projects. The library is especially beneficial for those studying for Institute qualifications.
Based at the Institute's Corby headquarters, the library includes leading publications, pamphlets, trade journals (for reference only), videos, CD-ROMS, reports, conference papers, case studies, Acts of Parliament and other Government papers covering all aspects of logistics, transport and the supply chain. Institute members can borrow most of the material as a benefit of membership.
As well as the extensive traditional collection, the John Williams Library offers access to the MINT UK companies database
and the Institute's library database through the online Library Catalogue
. The catalogue's search facility reveals full bibliographic, loan and copy information. An email connection enables members to contact the library to request items for loan, the photocopying of journal articles, or to find further information.
Facilities include study areas, a video and audio section, photocopier, CD-ROM player, and free computer Internet access to the Knowledge Bank, which contains the library catalogue with its holding of over 20,000 journal abstracts, the Business Source Corporate and UK/Eire Reference Centre electronic journal databases.
