'Characteristics, Strategies and Trends for 3PL/4PL in Australia'
Research background
In early 2003, the Logistics Association of Australia (LAA), sought expressions of interest to conduct research into 'Characteristics, Strategies and Trends of 3PL/4PL in Australia'. The LAA felt that there was insufficient information in the Public Domain relating to the development of Third Party Logistics providers and new business models such as 4PL.
The ALPHA Research Consortium under the leadership of Sydney Business School (a Graduate School of the University of Wollongong) and Macquarie Graduate School of Management were selected to conduct the study. Since then a number of organisations have provided significant support and an even larger number of individuals have worked hard to produce the research findings that are contained in this report.
