Freight by Water 

Freight by Water is a not-for-profit members' organisation that promotes the increased use of short sea, coastal and inland waterways for the transport of freight as a commercially and environmentally sustainable mode of transport.

Freight by Water's primary objective is to educate logistics professionals about water-freight transport and create awareness of its benefits including lower carbon emissions, a reduction and avoidance of road congestion and significant fuel/cost efficiencies - a 2000 ton coaster is equivalent to 80 lorry loads and 3 times more efficient.

Recognised by Government as the UK's official Short Sea Promotion Centre, Freight by Water promotes modal shift to water in the UK for the benefit of the environment and the economy.
