Which grade should you apply for?
Membership grades
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) – CILT(UK) – offers various grades of membership to reflect the level each individual is at in their professional life. Choose from the links below to find out which level you should apply for now, and aspire to in the future.

- Affiliate membership offers you instant access to most of the benefits of membership, without the hassle of a full application. You will receive all membership benefits, except voting rights, designatory letters after your name and access to parts of The Knowledge Bank.
- Member – MILT – this first grade of full CILT(UK) membership requires you to have certain qualifications and experience to attain. It offers full access to all membership benefits.
- Chartered Member – CMILT – to attain Chartered Membership of the Institute, you need to have a specific combination of qualifications and experience, including two years at a senior level. You will have full access to all membership benefits.
- Chartered Fellow – FCILT – to apply for Chartered Fellowship you must have at least seven years’ consecutive experience in a position of high responsibility immediately prior to application. This grade offers full access to all membership benefits.
It doesn’t have to be complicated – you can become an Affiliate member now - either online or by downloading the application form – no proof of experience or qualifications is necessary for Affiliate membership – to gain instant access to a vast range of membership benefits!

There are various routes available for Affiliates and Members who want to upgrade their membership to a higher level – this does depend on the amount of experience you have within your area and your qualifications.
