CPD Online

CPD Online will assist you in the planning and recording of your personal and professional development.

Already a member?  Please access CPD Online here.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is about keeping yourself up-to-date and learning new skills and competencies in the fast changing world in which we live and work.   CPD is defined as the maintenance and improvement of knowledge, skills and competence throughout a professional’s working life.  It is about maintaining and improving standards of competence and professionalism.  The onus is on you to take responsibility for developing and directing your own career.

CPD Online allows you to plan and record your progression, highlight future goals and demonstrate your skills to current and potential employers.  For further details see Why is CPD important?

CPD is much more than formal courses and qualifications.  It consists of a wide variety of structured and unstructured activities. For further details see What counts as CPD?

Available through the members’ area of the Institute web site CPD Online is accessible 24 hours a day providing a straightforward method of recording current skills, competencies and future activities which create an individual CPD plan.  Users can select from a variety of activities and insert them into their personal online diary.  Following completion of the activity, a reflective overview is produced and the number of CPD hours recorded.

A statement of currency can be produced at any time detailing an individual’s CPD plan, including completed and outstanding activities.  The ePortfolio area of the system allows for the upload of certificates and evidence of achievement.

CILT can now manage employees’ CPD on behalf of employers to ensure compliance training needs are met in accordance with the new Driver CPC, EU Directive 2003/59 for drivers of large goods (LGV) and passenger carrying vehicles (PCV).  Expiry dates of licences and compulsory qualifications as well as individuals’ CPD are held within the system, enabling the planning and delivery of training to be scheduled to individual and company requirements. For further details see Staffmark.
