What other relevant training courses do you offer? PDG has been involved with training people working in the supply chain and its related activities for over 15 years. The company has been a key contributor to the thinking that has gone into the design of the CILT(UK) qualifications. As well as contributing to CILT(UK), we have also played a key role at European level, being retained as the authors of the European standards. In the UK, we are the largest CILT(UK) Approved Centre for the delivery of the qualifications handling the majority of the students who pursue the qualifications by Distance Learning.
Our experience of working with a wide range of companies gives us a unique view of how supply chain management is developing and what the challenges of making it happen really are. We offer a range of programmes covering all aspects of management within the supply chain. We specialise in working with our clients to identify the specific learning outcomes that the programme will achieve. We can then design the programme that will deliver those outcomes through the application of the knowledge gained during the learning period. We aim to work with our learners in a way that makes learning challenging, but risk free and enjoyable, fostering the culture of lifelong learning.
Our hallmark is the practical approach we use. All our coaches have actually worked in industry undertaking the tasks for real. We are extremely proud of our client base that includes many of the top global and UK sector leaders, including a leading global logistics provider, the largest food and personal hygiene producers globally, the largest food services provider in the UK and leading UK supermarket companies.
What future developments are planned within your organisation in relation to logistics and transport qualifications? To continue to promote and deliver the range of qualifications relevant to our client base. Additionally, because of our close links with top companies, we can develop learning programmes that are both relevant to their needs and reflect the most up-to-date requirements of the market. Through seeking CILT(UK) endorsement and recognition of appropriate learning units, we can ensure that the qualifications are meeting the needs of the sector.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering entering the logistics and transport profession? It is a vibrant and exciting profession that is increasingly recognised for the vital role it plays in global commerce. Those who can demonstrate their professionalism, supported by relevant and recognised qualifications are more and more sought after.
