President - Peter Hendy CBE FCILT

Peter was appointed Commissioner, Transport for London, in 2006, having previously served as TfL's Managing Director of Surface Transport.

Peter is a Fellow of the Institute and has been a Vice President since 2008. Until last year Peter was Chair of the Commission for Integrated Transport, and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Highways & Transportation.

Peter Hendy says of his presidency: ‘I am delighted and honoured to have been nominated as President of the Institute. As a member of CILT for many years, I am looking forward to ensuring that the Institute remains at the forefront of passenger transport development, and helping to shape and develop the Institute's vision for the next 25 years.'
