Professional Sectors & Forums - Construction Supply Chain

Chairman: Stephen Bacon FCILT

This Forum is designed to support members who work within the construction industry or who are suppliers of goods and services to the industry.

The complex world of construction has received a lot of attention from the Government, DTI and its own industrial leaders in the past 2-3 years. The efficiencies – the saving in time and money that is possible from the careful industry application of supply chain techniques – have been highlighted and are material.

The Forum has offered its services to the DTI to bring the specialism of logistics into best practice with the construction industry. The Forum will be working with Constructing Excellence and other relevant bodies in the future.

The objectives of the Forum are:

  • To promote to the UK construction industry the benefits of good logistics and supply chain management.
  • To encourage managers and supervisors working in the construction industry to include logistics and supply chain management skills as part of their professional development.
  • To encourage networking of all those with an interest in construction supply chain management and provide a framework for the benchmarking of construction supply chain performance.
