Humber Group Cheque Presentation - August 2009
| The photograph shows (on the left) Sarah Shaw, Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport - Humber Group (CILT UK) presenting a cheque for £2,300 to David Roberts, Trustee and founder of Humber Rescue. The money was raised at the CILT (UK) Humber Group Annual Dinner and Dance which took place on 24th April 2009 at the Country Park Inn, Hessle. Humber Rescue is an independent charity responsible for the provision of a fast-response rescue boat on the rivers of the Humber Estuary. There are now 23 crew members of Humber Rescue all of whom are volunteers and give their time freely. Humber Rescue is entirely dependent on donations from the public and the generosity of local businesses to maintain and improve the service. Sarah Shaw said " We are delighted to have raised this sum of money to support a very worthwhile and local charity and we hope the donation will really make a difference to Humber Rescue". If you are interested in coming along to local CILT (UK) events please log onto www.ciltuk.org.uk/ and see what is going on in the Humber region. |
