Chairman: Simon Reynish CMILT
The North West Region of the CILT(UK) is active from Crewe to Carlisle and provides 45 events a year organised, mainly, by its four constitutent Groups. The regional committee supports this activity in a number of ways whilst being the link between the volunteer activists and central administration at Corby. Regional meetings are held quarterly at AG Barr PLC's Regional Head Office at Middlebrook (near the Reebok Stadium) http://www.agbarr.co.uk/ which also provides administrative support to the Chairman.
The region is well represented at all levels of the Institute with Clare Bottle and Simon Reynish on the Board of Directors, Howard Piltz and James Bell on the National Council whilst Alison Ross is Chair of the Young Professionals Forum.
Over the next twelve months the regional committee will be concentrating on further developing activity to improve membership services at a local level, improving contact with further and higher educational establishments, launching the secondary education KS3 short term scheme of work.
Please remember though that it is your professional members' organisation! Your Institute! And your Region, so please put something in so that you can get something back out!
The Region recently produced a response to DfT Consultation on Options for Strengthening Bus Passenger Representation in conjunction with the North East Region.
