CILT(UK) Cymru - Wales is made up of the North Wales Group, the South East Wales Group and the South West Wales Group.


Cymru-Wales National Transport Awards 2012

To be presented at a lunch in Cardiff City Hall on Friday 22 June 2012

The objective of the CILT Cymru-Wales Awards is to celebrate best practice and highlight organisations that can make a difference.  The judges are looking for a demonstration of sustainable development and new ideas that will make a lasting difference to services in Wales.

CILT Cymru-Wales invites submissions from individuals and organisations large or small, operating in Wales, in any or all of the sectors shown below:

  • Ports / Maritime / Waterways
  • Aviation
  • Supply Chain
  • Freight Forwarding
  • Transport Planning
  • Rail
  • Travel Planning & Active Travel
  • Bus & Coach

The award categories are:

  • R T Wynn Medallion for the Best Student Paper
  • Training / Development of People
  • Travel Demand Management
  • Partnership
  • Excellence in Passenger Transport
  • Transport Policy, Planning and Implementation
  • Innovative Solutions
  • Logistics Best Practice 
  • Supply Chain Best Practice
  • Wales Transport Professional(s) of the Year

Previous winners of awards have included Traveline Cymru, Carmarthenshire County Council, SWWITCH, Denbighshire County Council and Vale of Glamorgan County Council - some of whom have gone on to win at the UK Awards for Excellence in London.


CILT(UK) Cymru-Wales has members representing all aspects of travel, transportation and logistics including freight and passenger aspects of road, rail, shipping, air, education, ports, airports and transport planning.

Regular meetings are held in Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham and North Wales and all are welcome to attend. Refreshments are normally provided from 6.00 p.m, and the meetings usually start at 6.30 p.m.

Some events such as the National Transport Awards and the Transport Conference attract a charge, but generally there is no charge.  Guests are welcome.

Please feel free to bring along colleagues and try to encourage new members.
