Supply Chain Faculty

This Faculty covers all aspects of fulfilment and supply chain management: 'Fulfilment - from source through manufacture to marketplace'. 

The Supply Chain Faculty aims to discuss the latest thinking on innovative supply chain strategies and technologies, solutions and development. It aims to initiate review and discussion in all areas of supply chain design, operation, and in the appropriate use of technology and systems through its Forums or special interest groups.

The Faculty and its comprehensive Forums cover all aspects of the supply chain, including: fulfilment, management, solutions, development, practice, strategy and delivery, and is an invaluable source of information, expertise and networking for its members.

Current Forums are: Manufacturing Logistics; Supply Chain Inventory ManagementOutsourcing & ProcurementDefence Supply Chain; Construction Supply Chain; Reverse Logistics; The Last 50 Metres; Postal Services Forum; Value Chain Forum; Utility Supply Chain Forum

The Supply Chain Faculty shares information with members through Forum events and workshops and by providing articles on Forum web pages and articles/reports in 'Logistics & Transport Focus'. It also aims where applicable to collate common standards of (best) practice to promote supply chain operational improvement and benchmarking.

Its Forums cover the following topics: how to collate good and bad supply chain practice beginning with manufacturing; how to eliminate waste from all aspects of the supply chain, from suppliers to consumers; how to optimise and integrate stock levels at all locations within the supply pipeline; how to effectively manage returns; how to effectively outsource strategic functions within the supply chain and fulfilment and delivery of product between supplier and customer in the retail, defence and construction industries.
