Transport Planning Forum
Chairman: Tony Bolden CMILT
The Transport Planning Forum works through a Steering Committee, which considers current issues on transport planning, policy and practice and formulates responses to them as appropriate for the Institute.
The Forum's aim is to provide an active focus for transport planners. To that end it encourages members to attend meetings organised by the Transport Planning Society, a body that the Institute helps sponsor. The Forum occasionally organises workshops or surveys to ascertain membership expertise on certain issues. Members can also submit their views on outstanding issues to the Forum.
The Forum made a major contribution into the Institute's review of the Government’s 10-Year Plan, which was sent to the DfT. It was also favourably received by the technical press. More recently, it has undertaken a survey of members to assess current issues of concern.
