The Warburton’s Bakery Tour
Thursday 12th June 2008 saw the Lancashire & Cumbria Group host a visit of nearly 30 members at an entertaining and generous visit hosted by Warburton’s the bakers at their Burnley production site. Members were introduced to the complexities of producing fresh bread and how Warburton’s respond to a diverse customer base which ranges from the traditional corner shop through to the major supermarkets. After a rather fine range of sandwiches members were taken on an exhaustive tour of the production site. The visit marked the final event of James Bell’s tenure as Chairman and the committee warmly thanks James for all his hard work and wish him well in his new posting in East Anglia.
