Mentor Scheme
What is mentoring?
A mentoring service to support members in their CPD activities has been developed by CILT(UK). This scheme is by the members for the members. It is open to all members of the Institute regardless of membership grade, age or work status.
All Institute mentors have proven commitment to the profession and support the aims of CILT(UK) to 'promote professional excellence and social responsibility meeting the needs and promoting the interests of all who work in the fields of transport and supply chain management'.
A good mentoring relationship is one in which the mentor and protégé have mutual respect, recognise their need for personal development and have some idea where they both want to go. It is a protected relationship in which reflective learning and experimentation can occur, skills can be developed and results can be reviewed.
Whether you would like a mentor to help you with your CPD or think you have the knowledge and skills to be a mentor yourself, the Institute can help you make the most of this exciting relationship. You can be at any stage of your career or qualification to benefit from having the support of a mentor.
