President and Vice-Presidents

The presidential term for our Institute is one year, and our current President is Leon Daniels.

About Leon Daniels OBE FCILT

Leon Daniels is an extremely experienced transport professional with an exceptional record in delivery and performance at the highest level of private and public sector organisations. He had early experience in the UK Civil Service, then in shipping and publishing, before working in public transportation in UK, Hong Kong and USA. He ran his own public transport business in London which he sold to FirstGroup plc in 1998. Having run and sold his own business he has small and large company experience, has dealt with banks and venture capitalists, PLC Board governance and a track record of delivery throughout. He has spent the last 7 years as Managing Director Surface Transport at Transport for London - a £3.5bn business which is responsible for all transport in London apart from the Underground. There he oversaw the delivery of the transport for the London 2012 Olympic Games and a major capital investment programme which delivered significant improvements to the London transport system. Since retiring from TfL he has been advising world Governments and nice companies in the fields of artificial intelligence, public affairs, technology and the future
