DfT are seeking volunteers from the driving for work sector to take part in an important qualitative research study

The Department for Transport wish to recruit volunteers from the driving for work sector, in particular those who have responsibility for hiring staff (general manager), well-being of staff ( HR managers) and vehicles (fleet managers). The DfT intends to better understand the views from young drivers, parents of young drivers’ and employers within the driving for work sector on learning to drive, the risks of driving, and potential interventions to improve young driver’s safety. To ensure that all businesses are represented within the research the DfT encourages anyone who manages younger drivers to take part in the study.

The DfT intend to use a creative partner who on behalf of the department would if you agree be in touch to conduct in-depth interviews by telephone with views requested on driver safety, considerations when hiring and employing drivers particularly for those aged between 17 -24, and interventions to address the high number of collisions involving these young drivers.

The findings from the research will be used to inform future policy decisions on potential interventions to improve young driver safety.
If you are interested in taking park in this important piece of work please contact Priti.Khatri@dft.gsi.gov.uk directly by close of Thursday 17th April.
