LATEST NEWS

Following the success of ‘Driving the Future’, the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) and ITN Productions are producing a current affairs-style programme demonstrating the importance of collaboration between both individuals and businesses operating within the Logistics & Transport industry, and how this collaboration is vital to drive the sector forwards.

Although more than 2.7 million people work in the logistics and transport professions, many who don’t work within the sector are unaware of the vast range of rewarding and exciting life-long careers it has to offer. The CILT supports nine sectors including those operating on land, sea and in the air. Together they stimulate innovation in logistics and transport, which in turn propels the wider economy. Stronger Together will explore the people, leaders and companies across all sectors of logistics and transport and concentrate on those who are championing collaboration.

The programme will showcase how those with experience can work alongside and support emerging talent looking to join this exciting profession of choice. Moreover, Stronger Together will challenge the misperceptions of careers in logistics and transport, demonstrating that these are vital roles that are exciting, dynamic and rewarding.

Drawing upon ITN’s 60 year heritage and expertise in storytelling, the news-style piece will be anchored by national newsreader Matt Barbet to combine key interviews and reports with sponsored editorial profiles from leading organisations.

Stronger Together will premiere at the CILT’s Annual Conference and Dinner at the Chesford Grange Hotel on 14th June 2018. The conference is a major event in the transport and logistics profession, bringing together 200-300 of the professions’ business leaders, champions and innovators. The programme will also form part of a wider digital campaign.

Kevin Richardson, Chief Executive, CILT said: “The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport delivers the networks, knowledge and knowhow for individual and corporate success. The Stronger Together film will demonstrate how the CILT is leading the way in promoting inclusivity, championing diversity of thought and welcoming challenge – all necessary to generate the innovation needed in logistic and transport that the nation both demands and deserves.”

Simon Shelley, Head of Industry News, ITN Productions, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport to produce a programme exploring the collaboration that is needed to drive this vital sector forward. We hope the content can be used to exchange ideas, celebrate success stories and engage members and the wider audience”.
