Warrington distribution hub opened by Fortec

15 June 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain

Pallet distribution network Fortec Distribution has announced the opening of a new regional hub in Warrington, which will serve the north of England.

The site represents a major infrastructure expansion for the organisation, and it will be used by 15 Fortec members based in the north of the country and in Ireland.

Planned growth across the Fortec network will be supported by the new facility, which is also expected to bring a wide range of benefits to the network and its member firms.

Members' stem mileage will be reduced to and from depots, which will serve to reduce fuel costs and give Fortec a competitive advantage over its rivals.

General manager for operations at Fortec Adrian Bradley said the investment represents his organisation's long-term commitment to improving efficiency.

"From the start, the hub will be dealing with approximately 10 per cent of our overall volume each night under the leadership of manager Kevin Huskie - a figure which is set to grow," he commented.
