Pall-Ex, the leading UK and European palletised freight network, has announced the appointment of Chris Bowden as its new group sales and marketing director.
With more than 24 years’ experience in the sector, Chris will use his knowledge to create, grow and retain long-term, profitable partnerships between Pall-Ex and its ever-growing suite of international partner networks and members.
A former board member at DX (Group) Ltd, Chris is no stranger to the responsibilities of a senior role in the global transport industry, with experience in business-to-business parcels, business-to-consumer parcels, freight, pick-up and drop-off solutions, as well as logistics.
Chris said: 'Joining a company like Pall-Ex, which has an expectation of excellent customer service as standard, is exciting but also a real challenge. Maintaining consistently high levels of care and delivery will be demanding, but I share the Pall-Ex ethos that customers and members should be at the heart of everything we do.'
Kevin Buchanan, group managing director at Pall-Ex, explained that Chris was an obvious choice for the role, with a proven track record building key relationships in the logistics industry throughout Europe, Asia and the USA.
He said: 'Over the past 12 months, Pall-Ex has made a conscious decision to raise the bar across the industry through service excellence, and to demonstrate its credibility as the leading palletised freight network in the UK and beyond.
'We have seen dozens of hauliers approaching us as the network of choice this year, since UK Pallets announced its closure. With Chris having worked with the likes of HP, Rolls Royce, ASOS and John Lewis, he’s an excellent fit to drive Pall-Ex’s high standards of service forward while continuing to attract the best new members and customers to our growing network.'
