Returns policies and customer expectations will be among the subjects under discussion at this year's forthcoming Omni-Channel Conference.
Manager of John Lewis's national returns centre Arron Nicholson is scheduled to talk about these topics, Logistics Manager reports.
He is also expected to focus on how improved customer interaction and service can lead to a reduction in the number of products that are returned with no fault found.
The need for the industry as a whole to deal more effectively with demand, fulfilment and returns will come under scrutiny - and this is a particularly pressing concern, given that Black Friday is predicted to be larger than ever this year.
Due to take place at Dexter House in London from September 16th to 17th, the conference aims to address these issues, as they are considered by the organisers to be more vital now than ever before.
