"I have been a member of the CILT for the last six years and am proud to be a Fellow of the Institute. Membership of the CILT has been a massive benefit to me personally and professionally. It has allowed me to develop my industry knowledge and skills through access to the Knowledge Centre and numerous events that are run around the country. This has enabled me to keep abreast of the continual changes and challenges the industry faces. In addition, it has allowed me to meet numerous highly skilled peers within the industry who have been happy to share knowledge, seek my profession expertise and who have also become good friends.."

"Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) UK brings a host of benefits to individual professionals and their employers. Whether working from home or on site, it provides the opportunity to network with fellow members, gain experience, acquire up to date knowledge, sharpen skills and reduce isolation. There are courses and qualifications, specialist Forums and events available through e-learning and digital communications to inspire self-improvement and career success. The Institute has full geographic coverage of the United Kingdom through its Nations, Regions and local Groups. There are also special interest Forums on subjects ranging from Active Travel to Waterways by way of de-carbonising and diversity."

"The CILT has enabled me to develop key aspects of my professional life; credibility, inspiration, and networking. Being a part of CILT is a great ice breaker in my supply chain circles during business meetings."

"I would like to say that the most beneficial reasons to being a member which give you access to “the knowledge centre"is the vast and concise information that is easy to access. Very authoritative knowledge which is very extensive, this I find to be a unique source of information and reference. The same can be said about the research team who are also very knowledgable. Plus the added benefits that you can obtain by being a member! I can thoroughly recommend membership of CILT. I would also note that the knowledge centre should be used as a starting point from research to courses being run."

"I was introduced to the possibility of becoming a member of the Institute whilst working at British Airways in 1986 and after attaining Chartered Membership in 1990 found that it helped my career progression within British Airways to junior management positions and enabled me to keep abreast of trends and developments within the transport and logistics industries. I wanted to expand my knowledge further and give something back to the institute, so I joined the London Region Committee around 1998, and in due course joined the Aviation Group, Strategic Rail, Public Policies Committee as well as the Assessment Panel. These commitments and involvements have further increased my knowledge of transport and logistics and have also offered networking opportunities. Membership has also helped me in my role as a Parish Councillor as I am able to provide added value to discussions concerning transport and logistics. I have also been appointed a Director of a Community Interest Company which is in the process of reopening a Household Recycling Centre which was once operated by a local authority. I would recommend anyone who has an interest in the transport and logistics industry to apply for membership. The institute offers you the chance to enhance your qualifications, broaden your knowledge of the industry- the knowledge centre at Corby has a veritable wealth of information, increase your networking opportunities, engage with local groups of transport and logistics professionals who arrange events and visits. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport offers you a way to enhance your career opportunities within the Transport and Logistics industry, If you are up for a challenge we at CILT can offer you solutions."

"I have been with CILT for over 25 years now and believe that this association has benefitted my career in the Logistics industry immensely. Through education on the topic and constantly renewing my skills through their “Advance Diploma in Logistics” course and the “MSc in International Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management”, from all the reading material available on Logistics (and related topics) at their knowledge center. From the mentoring program – where I was provided a Mentor decades ago and who has been a guide and sounding board in all the ups and downs of my career and the relationship has grown from a Mentor-Mentee relationship to a good friendship. The mentoring program is helping me in giving it forward and supporting a few new entrants into the Logistics and Transport industry and supporting them achieve their own career goals. The Focus Magazine has given me over the years the latest news and information – on what is transpiring in the Industry and how Technology and the need for Sustainability is changing the Industry – this has helped me stay ahead of the curve in my job and career. Last but not least the pride I feel being a part of one of the most famous and earliest Institutes of the industry. I can fully endorse the experience and the benefit of being a part of the institute – from my personal experience."
