We are delighted to announce that Andrew Weatherill, Director of Finance and Company Secretary, CILT, will be tackling the world-famous Bosporus Cross Continental Swim in Istanbul.

Raising money for Aspire, CILT’s Career Foundation providing funded opportunities for education, training and development in logistics and transport, Andrew will be swapping his rugby shirt for his swim suit, alongside his daughter, Olivia, and lifelong friend Neil Forster as they embark on the gruelling 6km challenge.

The trio will swim from Asia to Europe, across one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. The Bosporus connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara and osphorus strait separates the European part from the Asian part of Istanbul. The surface current flows always from north to south; however, a strong countercurrent under the surface creates swirls and eddies.
