Coronavirus: Contingency and Emergency Planning Guidance to be revealed by Senior Traffic Commissioner

CILT(UK) is alerting members to the expected publication of a document by the Senior Traffic Commissioner. This is expected to be published shortly covering temporary updates to Documents 2, 3, 4, 9 and 14 in response to the difficult circumstances presented by COVID-19.

The Guidance and Directions will place a heavy emphasis on supporting the regulated industries through this difficult period, whilst ensuring road safety. 

The guidance, under the heading Contingency and Emergency Planning will cover topics including:
  • Contingency Powers
  • Process for Periods of Grace
  • Goods – Interim Licences
  • Goods – Temporary Exemptions
  • Bus Registrations
  • Community Passenger Transport
  • Attendance at Hearings
  • General Discretion
