Garmin acquires a further 100,000 sq ft of operational space in Southampton

09 March 2022/Categories: Logistics & Supply Chain, Operations Management

On behalf of Garmin, a provider of fitness technology and GPS-enabled products, Colliers has acquired a 100,000 sq ft warehouse on Parham Drive, Eastleigh, Southampton to support the expansion of the company’s existing European HQ, already based in the city.

The warehouse is based within 10 miles of Garmin’s existing facility and is well connected by road, sea, rail, and air.

James Haestier, director Colliers’ Industrial and Logistics team, commented:

“I am delighted to have advised Garmin on the acquisition of additional warehouse premises at Proximity in Southampton as the company continues to expand and offer new technologies to the European market.  The demand for mid-sized warehouse units within the Southampton market is very strong at the moment, with a lack of supply so acquiring Proximity within a tough market is a testament to all involved to complete the transaction.”

Nic Bowler, Garmin director of operations EMEA, added:

“Garmin continues to expand within Europe, and working with Colliers, I am pleased that we have managed to secure the Proximity facility, which provides some much-needed additional warehouse space. The unit, which has been refurbished and is well located, will mean we can continue to offer our customers an excellent service.”
