Transport for Wales' partnership project encourages public transport use

20 March 2023/Categories: Active Travel & Travel Planning

As part of Transport for Wales' partnership project to encourage people to use public transport to access local walking routes and help improve their health and wellbeing, Ramblers Cymru will lead six free family walks during Easter half term.  WCP Barmouth

On Monday 3 April and Tuesday 4 April, the guided walks will begin at four station locations, Flint, Barry Island, Barmouth and Burry Port with places limited to 20, including adult and children. The family fun adventure walks will include opportunities to stop and take in the amazing views, as well as some fun activities for all the family to enjoy.

Every child in attendance will be given a Ramblers Cymru Ramble & Scramble activity book to take home and will also have the opportunity to use them along the way to spot and identify the local wildlife.

Angela Charlton, Director, Ramblers Cymru said:

“Its great to be working with TfW to offer these walks, they are a great way for families to experience some parts of our beautiful coastline.

“We want to see walking at the heart of communities across Wales, and to encourage visitors and local people to explore and enjoy positive outdoor experiences and the health and wellbeing benefits they bring, in a more sustainable way.”
