Update on Professional Development and Education Matters

13 April 2015/Categories: CILT International News

Expanding our network of accredited training providers

As a result of a visit to South Africa we are delighted to announce the approval of Commerce Edge as our first accredited training provider, offering a wide range of CILT professional courses as well as CPD opportunities. Over the next 6 months we will be visiting; Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Ghana, Nigeria, Malta, Egypt, Oman and the UAE

In order to meet this demand we are developing a pool of approved education professionals who would be willing to visit providers on a consultancy basis. We are doing a last call for anyone that wishes to be considered for this role. The deadline is 30th April 2015; please send your CV in to jon.harris@ciltintenrational.org

All about the Education Champions

A key part of the new-look IESC is the creation of a leaner Committee structure which deals with strategic matters and strategy development monitoring with a network of Education Champions in every country, to help us to work with each country on a one to one level and as a panel.

We are still looking to ensure every CILT country is covered so if you are interested plese contact Jon Harris and ask for a job description, but please ensure you let your local Branch or Territory Chair know that you are offering to help.

The Africa Forum

As always, we had a great reception in Tanzania this year with a full conference hall to listen to a range of technical papers and to discuss Institute business. As part of our visit we were able to spend a good deal of time talking to representatives from different countries about their challenges with education and professional development, looking at how we can best help them

It was also great to see so many students in attendance from a number of Tanzanian institutes, and it was particularly good to be able to present certificates to some of those students who have just qualified with their Diplomas

E-survey – finding out your views and ideas

Just a reminder that as our customers we want to hear your views about education, training opportunities and challenges – so we will be launching an e-survey after our next IESC meeting in mid-April with at least a month for members to respond.  We will be consulting training providers as well as Branch and Territory education officers. Please make sure you make your voice heard and get in touch with us.

Key Contacts in Education

For all routine enquiries, including new accreditation applications, please contact Zoe Roberts, the Education Administrator: zoe.roberts@ciltinternational.org

Zoe will be sending out important communications about materials and processes over the next few weeks – so please watch out for these communications. If you run the Diploma course and for any reason you have not received the updated 2014 materials, please let Zoe know.
