CILT International Convention 2014

The CILT International Convention 2014 was held in Malacca, Malaysia from 1 to 6 June.

CILT Singapore sent a strong team of 6 delegates to the Convention. Flying the flag for Singapore at the international forum were Chairman Karmjit Singh, Advisory Panel member Prof Chia Lin Sian, Honorary Secretary Ivan Neo, Director of Special Education Projects Loh Chow Kuang, Director of Social/ Talks/ Newsletter Kelly Tan and Executive Director Koh Teow Ngan.

The team attended the Singapore Country Delegation Meeting and all other proceedings and activities.

Visit by CILT International Professional Development Coordinator, Mr Jon Harris

Hot after the CILT International Convention 2014 at Malacca, Mr. Jon Harris, Professional Development Coordinator of CILT International, flew into Singapore for a lengthy and fruitful meeting with CILT Singapore on 9 June 2014, covering a wide variety of issues.

The meeting started in the early morning and adjourned for a quick lunch at the nearby hawker centre, where Jon was treated to one of Singapore's favourite food – chicken rice. The meeting continued into the afternoon as we shared our experience and discussed initiatives for greater collaboration with the CILT international body.

The ensuring improved understanding of CILT International and CILT Singapore’s goals and priorities will us steer the future growth of CILT International and CILT Singapore.

Study Tour of Thailand NIDA MSc Students

For the second year running, CILT Singapore hosted a group of 27 Logistics MSc students from Thailand’s National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA). The five days programme, from 2 to 6 May 2014, was tightly packed with a host of activities and visits.

Apart from lectures conducted by CILTS-appointed lecturers, the study group was brought on site visits to YCH Chem Park and Keppel Logistics warehouses.

At the end of the attachment, the students made group presentations on their projects, followed by a certificate presentation ceremony.
