Update on the International Certificate

Education providers and Branch/Territorial Education officers will pleased to know that the final syllabus for the new CILT Certificate qualification was released in December 2013, which completes the material suite for this course. It has been emailed direct to named training provider and education contacts on our database, but if for any reason you have not received this then please get in touch with Jon Harris at jon.harris@ciltinternational.org.

We do appreciate that many providers have relied on the earlier 2006 syllabus and material until now, and you should carry on using this for any current cohorts of students. For any new cohorts we are encouraging providers to move onto the new syllabus as soon as you are able. In order to give time for changeover and give your lecturing staff a chance to review the materials alongside the syllabus, we are asking that all courses starting after 1st July 2014 must use the new syllabus only

Update on the International Diploma

As readers will be aware, we have started development of the new Diploma modules, bringing them in line with the refresh carried out on the CILT UK qualifications. Thanks to a great team of writers we now have the draft module content in place, but we are now looking at adding in more diagrams and guidance to help the international audience, particularly where concepts and systems need to be understood. Our new timetable intends to have the resources ready for Spring 2013, with the formal launch at the 2014 Convention in Malaysia.

We also to plan to work closely with CILT UK on the work they are carrying out on e-learning around the current Diploma course and to see how this project can benefit the wider membership. For those interested in distance learning we are referring all enquiries to Ashleigh Smith at CILT who manages the UK programme (ashleigh.smith@ciltuk.org.uk).

Update on modules

Readers are reminded that under our new system training providers can apply to offer single unit modules, either as a stand-alone offering or as part of an integrated CPD course. Any provider or local Branch/Territory wanting to find out more should contact jon.harris@ciltinternational.org.

Sending out of course materials and address updates

 
From 2014 onwards, we will be releasing all training materials by memory stick to make it easier for postage and data storage. We have discovered that a number of providers have not been receiving their CDs through the post so we will adopt this new practice with immediate effect. We will be checking that we have the correct mailing addresses and contact names of every approved training provider during January 2014 so please let us know if any local contacts details have changed.
