Kuehne + Nagel further expands automotive business

Kuehne + Nagel will support BMW Group with the implementation of a new structure for their complex spare parts logisitcs at the Central Distribution Centre (CDC) in Bavaria: From the CDC, BMW Group provides parts to its regional distribution centres worldwide, which in turn ensure delivery to local authorised BMW dealers in individual countries. Kuehne + Nagel will gradually take over operations at three CDC locations in Lower Bavaria effective November. In addition to goods receiving activities, the control and packing of spare parts are included in the scope of service. Furthermore, Kuehne + Nagel will also be responsible for storage, comissioning and outgoing goods.

This new contract with BMW Group underlines our comprehensive expertise, especially within the complex area of spare parts logistics. We are very pleased to expand our partnership with BMW Group,” says Jens Wollesen, member of the management board of the German Kuehne + Nagel organisation, responsible for Contract Logistics. 

From production logistics to just-in-time/just-in-sequence to tyre-, returnsand spare parts logistics, Kuehne + Nagel’s service portfolio covers the entire vehicle life cycle. Over 3,000 employees in Germany are involved in projects for the automotive sector.
