The public vote to find the ParcelHero People’s Everyday Hero ends tomorrow at midnight. Over 50 unsung heroes and heroines have been nominated, and you can vote now for the People’s Hero.
Many of the People’s Hero’s nominees come from the Everyday Business Heroes category. The specialist judge in this category is Nikki King OBE, the first ever woman MD of a truck company, and an inspirational and outspoken business leader. Nikki is urging CILT members and everyone working in logistics and business to have their say and vote for the People’s Hero.
Says Nikki: ‘Often quiet and unassuming, office angels are the glue that hold an organisation together and are often not truly appreciated until they leave.’
Nikki, Isuzu Truck UK’s Honorary Chairman, is a champion of women in the workplace, with over 50% of her senior management team being female. She famously featured in Channel 4’s Undercover Boss series, an experience that really bought home to her the problems faced by women returning to the career ladder.
Nikki passionately believes that unsung business heroes and heroines, as well as inspirational mentors and leaders, should receive proper recognition: ‘That is why ParcelHero’s Business Everyday Hero award is so special and important and I am delighted to be part of this great initiative.’
Nikki King and the other expert judges will meet to determine the winner of the Business category, as well as entries in the Community, Sports and Volunteer categories. All the winners will be revealed early in December.
