RCS Logistics and Tresham College of Further and Higher Education form new partnership to offer Apprenticeships to local students

16 February 2016/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Logistics & Supply Chain

Over the years, RCS Logistics, a Corby-based 3PL, has established itself as an employer of choice in the local logistics community, currently employing over 100 staff. In 2016, RCS Logistics and Tresham College of Further and Higher Education are teaming up to offer a number of brand new apprenticeships to local students in the Corby area. These include Business Administration, Transport Administration, and Warehousing and Storage, with the intention to support these students in developing the essential knowledge and skills to perform these roles, giving them a head start and invaluable experience for when they’re ready to begin full-time employment. All apprentices will finish the program with both level 2 and level 3 Diplomas, and will combine elements of both study and work during the apprenticeships.

David Higham, Vice Principal at Tresham commented, ‘It has been proven that skills investment yields a significant amount of additional value added to an employer and at Tresham we are very pleased to be developing lasting partnerships with local Northamptonshire based businesses such as RCS Logistics. Their support for apprenticeships is a fantastic endorsement for on the job skills training and we have already seen how this will help them to grow and nurture their own talent, keeping them one step ahead of their competition.’

Phil Mitchell, Director at RCS Logistics added, ‘Having been in business for over 40 years, I have seen first-hand and many times, the benefit of training and promoting from within. The logistics industry is more reliant than ever before on technological advances so I want to create an environment, through apprenticeships, where RCS can capture the enthusiasm and innovation of youth.’

RCS Logistics employ people who are passionate and talented in their roles. Are you looking for a position in the logistics and warehousing industry? Call 0845 500 4005 or visit www.rcslogistics.co.uk/careers for more information on our current vacancies.
