3T explain the rise of the machines at CILT event in June

25 May 2016/Categories: Industry News, Logistics & Supply Chain, Transport Planning

Transport managers and logistics personnel are invited to learn about how the application of new technology is revolutionising transport management at a CILT event in June.

Transport management experts 3T Logistics (www.3t-europe.com) will be hosting the ‘Rise of the Machines’ event at their headquarters in Leicester on Tuesday 14th June. The evening will commence with an introduction by 3T’s CEO Steve Twydell.

Steve Holmes of 3T and David Cole of Honda UK Manufacturing will then explain how the application of new TMS technology can reduce transport cost and improve efficiency with real examples of the technology in action.

David will be talking about how Honda has used 3T’s Solo TMS to move their manufacturing inbound transport management process in-house. Steve will be offering an introduction to the Solo system, as well demonstrating 3T’s latest product DOCK, a standalone loading bay management application.

“Industry events such as this are crucial in getting people together to share new developments and good practice,” comments Steve. “We want to get the message across that we don’t have to keep doing things the same way. There are much more efficient ways of managing transport using some fantastic technology. This is the perfect opportunity to share the exciting strides that we have made in transport management applications and to show people how we can help them.”

A cloud based app, DOCK can be downloaded and set up to a customer’s specific requirements without the need for any intervention from 3T. The product is suitable for companies of all sizes with a varying transport spend; it has a transactional fee of £1 per load with a minimum £50 spend per week.

“DOCK was developed in-house over two years using state of the art technology to meet the demands of increasingly complex delivery and dispatch environments across multiple sites,” explains Steve. “Managing large amounts of data quickly is absolutely essential in today’s transport management industry.”

Users are able to create timed slots that suit the company’s needs, whilst DOCK helps manage capacity and improve resource management against a live interactive schedule. The system also enables users to monitor adherence to service levels and provides access to a complete picture of on-time collection and delivery performance via the cloud.

The ‘Rise of the Machines’ event takes place on Tuesday 14th June from 6pm to 8.30pm at 3T’s offices in Grove Park, Leicester. To reserve a free place, book online at CILT, contact Membership Services in 01536 740104 or email membership@ciltuk.org.uk quoting event code LCG0008.
