Please join us for an exciting event about the development of a renewable-powered EV charging station with off-vehicle hybridised energy storage, addressing the trilemma of EV infrastructure growth, renewable generation, and grid constraints.

This event is an opportunity to learn about the FEVER project and share your views about fleet transport electrification with the research team. The day will include expert speakers from the FEVER research team and interactive workshop activities, and industry networking opportunities throughout.  

This event will be of particular interest to those working in the road freight transport sector, operators of commercial vehicle fleets (HGV and LCV), fleet and transport managers, and those with an interest in learning about the challenges associated with EV fleet charging and ways to overcome them.

Proudly brought to you by the East of England Local Government Association, England’s Economic Heartland, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and Transport East, this summit promises to be an enlightening and action-oriented event.

Together, we are dedicated to tackling the pressing challenges of climate change head-on, and through collaboration and innovation, we aim to pave the way for a sustainable future. By bringing together key stakeholders from various sectors, including government, industry, and academia, we will explore cutting-edge solutions, share best practices, and chart a course towards a resilient and carbon-neutral future.

The East of England has a unique set of environmental opportunities and challenges. Our region produces half of the UK’s offshore wind energy and has plans to do much more. However, the East of England is the most susceptible region in the country to the impacts of climate change including coastal erosion and drought. Furthermore, car ownership levels are extremely high due, largely, to our region’s rurality. This has a massive impact on carbon emissions.

At the 2024 East of England Net Zero and Climate Resilience Summit, partners from the public and private sector, will come together to explore the following themes:

• Behaviour change
• Building climate resilience
• Net zero freight and logistics
• Farming and land use
• The role of hydrogen

Speaker: Clare Bottle, chief executive , the UK Warehousing Association

Clare Bottle is CEO since 2021 of the UK Warehousing Association and Vice-Chair of Women in Logistics UK, which she co-founded 15 years ago with Ruth Wareing during a career that has taken her through the chemicals, construction and food & drink sectors.  Her strategic leadership experience stems from varied board-level involvement at CILT, Transaid and chairing a school board. At UKWA, which she joined from Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, she has pursued an agenda of economic, social and environmental sustainability, as well as driving diversity and inclusion. At the 2023 CILT Awards for Excellence, Clare won the prestigious Sir Robert Lawrence Award, which recognises the lifetime achievement of an individual, for their outstanding and sustained contribution to the profession of logistics and transport. The Year of Warehousing is a high pro-file, year-long campaign to highlight the critical role of warehousing in supply chains, the sector’s major contribution to the UK economy, the essential employment of 1m people, and the key role it is set to play in embracing solar power to achieve UK’s net zero goals. It coincides with the 80th anniversary of the Association’s inception in 1944, and includes an ambitious programme of 80 site visits across the UK by Clare, whose aim is to showcase the high tech, fast-moving working environ-ments inside UK’s warehouses.
